2612 router with 2 wic1 cards

I trying to set up my home lab I have 1*2612 router and 2*2620 routers. The 2612 has two wic1/dsu cards one in serial0/0 and one in serial0/1. Each has a t1 crossover cable that i have tested with a cable tester and the pin out is good.green lights all the way around. The 2620 routers also have the wic1/dsu cards installed in serial 0/0. I have configured each of the routers as per the lab book told me to but i cant ping out of the 2612.

Show run interface sx/x. Do you have CDP neighbors? I'm thinking you might not have them connected the right way.

R1 s0/1 connects to R2 s0/0. You have your IPs mixed up.

Did you set the clock rates on R1?

You don't need the clock rate with these cards. I don't even think it will let you configure it.

Does the CSU/DSU set the clock rates automatically? I though any serial connection with the Xover cable in a lab needs the clock rate set. I could be wrong.

No.... The IPs on each side of the link need to be in the same subnet.

I tried to switch the ips first and that did not do it ...fixed it back to what i had at first and then just switched the cables on the R1 s0/0 and s0/1 and every they thing is working now..I can ping each other routers...Thinks for you help...

You didn't need to switch the IPs on R1 and R2 you needed to switch the IPs on R2 and R3.

I have look back at every thing in this lab...And all it was telling me was that it will allow me to ping each router from each router...and that is true....But looking now it seams what i set up was this...R1 was the gateway and r2 and r3 where there own networks and i had the gateway cards mismatched so they could not see the other networks....and l also look back and i should have started from step one and made sure that it was a level one was looked at first...
