Hey Guys, ok I just enrolled at my local community college for the spring semester. My major right now is Information Technology, but going over the course description and curriculum I think Information Security might give me an better opportunity at getting into the IT field and it SEEMS to cover more stuff. So I'm thinking about changing my major. Could you guys look over both the curriculum for IT and IS and tell me what you think?
Would one benefit me more than the other?
Information Technology, Assoc. of Applied Science
Information Security , Assoc. of Applied Science
Thanks in advance

I recommend taking the classes you would like/find interesting, and if that lines up with network security get it. Also, take that CISSP prep course either way."Once upon a time, disks were floppy, administrators were electricians and computers were louder then jets. Then it all got complicated." -Anon

Obviously different schools different curriculum, but its probably not too different for you.
Besides, as I have seen on here....a security degree does not make a security professional. -

You can always specialize later, and my find a concentration other than security that interests you."Follow your dreams. You CAN reach your goals. I'm living proof. Beefcake!
