70-685 or 70-686

Hi

I got my 70-680 on windows 7 last year.

Im in the middle of a process where my employer hasnt given me my next lot of training yet and was hoping to knock out the 70-685 or 70-686 quickly. My aim is to get an MCSA: Windows 7 so i can upgrade to MCSA: Windows 8 .

Am i right in saying that the 70-685 or 70-686 doesnt earn you the certification title anymore but it just contributes to the MCSA title? in other words, will someone later on in life who looks at a CV see that you have an MCSA or would they see the title?

Im aiming for server side work but want to keep myself updated on the client side anyway. Im basically aiming for an easy exam (70-685 looks easy as its mainly desktop support) to knock out so i can get the MCSA. I know its all about knowledge at the end of the day but i just want the quickest route possible.

The MCITP / EDST(685) / EDA(686) is being retired Jan 31st 2014. You will still be able to earn the MCSA title. Hope this helps! ^^
