IT field in country with low pay
Try to imagine you live in a place where average IT salary is 14k a year(that's where I live).
Now try to imagine you live somewhere in China where you get 3k a year.
That's how much we pay our employee there. Most of them graduate from good university some even with master.
People will work like crazy if it means you can get away from those ****.
A few year ago, my friend studied in a GRE boot camp in China. The way they study is 16 hours a day for 3 month. The living condition is so bad that 15 people have to slept together in a room no bigger than 20 x 4 square meter.
Now he successfully got his PHD in New Jersey. Also married and working there and never turn back.
I work in Taiwan. Actually just quit my job as a programmer and try to pursue my CCNP. The way I study is 16 hours a day, I hardly even left my chair.
Really, I don't pursue CCNP for better salary now. I hope to get my CCNP, get 1 year experience and move oversea.
The salary I can get with CCNP here... just a bit over 12k a year, even less than programmer.

JDMurray Admin Posts: 13,099 AdminWhat is the cost of living like over there? If $12-14K is a typical salary, then it must be relatively inexpensive to live there. If you were to get a job in Southern California, you'd be making 4-5 times as much, but things that you'd need to live would likely be 4-5 time more expensive than in Taiwan.
