I didn't see this posted here so figured I would get it up. Apply, it can't hurt especially if you're active in this forum. vExperts also get access to NFR licenses from certain vendors and I believe that even Trainsignal (Pluralsight now) gave out a free years worth of access to their training materials.

kj0 Member Posts: 767Hmm.. I thought of applying with my blog and a few implementations I have done for Hyper-V customers, but I don't post much (If at all) on the VMware forums. Might put in all the effort this year and apply for next. Can't hurt to apply and see what their response is.
Good luck to all that are applying. -
QHalo Member Posts: 1,488The VMware forums are just one community. Any online forum where you discuss VMware or evangelize or help others relation to VMware is fair game. Good luck to anyone applying!

blargoe Member Posts: 4,174 ■■■■■■■■■□This time last year I was wanting to apply for this year, and was pretty active on VMware's forums for a few months, but I just got to busy with the job, and the non-VMware aspects of my job, and sort of fizzled out.IT guy since 12/00
Recent: 11/2019 - RHCSA (RHEL 7); 2/2019 - Updated VCP to 6.5 (just a few days before VMware discontinued the re-cert policy...)
Working on: RHCE/Ansible
Future: Probably continued Red Hat Immersion, Possibly VCAP Design, or maybe a completely different path. Depends on job demands... -
QHalo Member Posts: 1,488I've heard that they're changing to quarterly reviews so you're not out this year completely.

SimonD. Member Posts: 111It's not just about being active on the VMware communities, being active here will also help out (I am a moderator over on CertForums which helped me with my vExpert awards in 2012 and 2013 along with my blog).
As long as you're active and helping the community then you stand a good chance, the increase in numbers last year compared to the year before shows that the vExpert is growing in status. My Blog - http://www.everything-virtual.com

Indeed Simon is right... There are many ways to become a vExpert.
I can see a lot of guys on this forum becoming vExperts -
