Ive been listening on a couple of different repeaters in my area. Theres a lot of traffic going on both of the repeaters I tune into. I didnt think that many people had much interest in amateur radio these days. Apparently I was wrong.

Ive been reading my general book for the last week or so, and doing ok on the practice exams. I think ill pass when I take the exam next month.

I got my General class several years ago. I actually took my first license exam at DEFCON 17. I have an old Yaesu rig, but I never got around to putting up an antenna on my roof. I should have bought an <5W handheld instead.

I am planning on putting some sort of antenna up on my roof this spring. Looking forward to it.
Ill be taking the general exam this month. I'm pretty confident that I will pass it.

Ha, there's amateur radio VECs at DEFCON? What *can't* someone do at DEFCON? I've never been but would love to go. I might get hooked.
