in CCNA & CCENT
hi, I'm Marcello From italy, i'm studying CCENT.
This forum is amazing, there are a lot of information that i read. Thanks at all.
I'm going to realize a cisco lab for CCNA, i'm looking for on ciscokit but i'm confused. What kind of lab do i need for IICND1 and ICND2 because there are a lot of model routers and switches.
My budget is 350 $

look there for certification kits. I honestly feel you do NOT need to buy a lab for the studies. Maybe down the road YES, but for CCENT/CCNA try Packet Tracer or GNS3.. Use Youtube to guide you in the setup, why not?. Truthfully, Lets talk about CCENT, I used the Official Cert Guide and Packet Tracer. After I took my CCENT, I felt as though I could of passed just from reading the book and being the subnetting king that I am. That is just me. But again, If you want to waste money on a kit, I suggest getting on ebay.com and bidding on items, I like to go to "time ending sonnest" and outbid at 5 seconds left or make a offer to someone with several items, usually you can offer them a lower price and they will take it. Never click on Buy Now, because you will find 50 items cheaper on the next page. You can google what you need for a lab, or just <----see what they offer and find it on ebay. IF you wanted to buy a lab. I believe it is cheaper buying a lab in parts! Go for the ones offering free shipping, some people(weirdos) offer it at a cheap price, then you look it's 30-50 bucks for shipping. be very careful -

Ebay would have you believe these kits are an absolute must for CCNA but I always figured Packet Tracer/ NetSimk would be more than adequate for the lower level exams- guess I was right. It's nice to get your hands on equipment for experience purposes (I have an old 1841 I bought off Ebay) and its also good to see added life given to old hardware but they've made an entire industry out of these kits.

Your need for and benefit of having a lab is completely dependent on what you want to do and how you learn best. If your a hands on guy who likes to poke around you might love a lab. If you want to see the command work and move on then use a sim.
I like to relate it to my past experience. About 20 years ago I learned to use several programs that I would need when I started working. In the school environment everything was protected and you accessed the software via a splash screen. Well sure enough when I started my first interview I sat in front of a machine I had absolutely no idea how to launch the program to start working. I didn't make a very good impression at the time. I did however learn a lot from that first 15 minutes and worked for the company for another 10 years.
If you want real equipment I would suggest researching Cisco 1841 routers.
Good Luck -
