Passed the Route exam need advice for the switch exam
so i passed the route exam yesterday , its a fair exam if you really study for it and do a lot of labbing . i was surprised on how many sims i got l , now i will tackle the switch exam but unlike the route exam where i done most of my labs on GNS3 i don't see how you can lab for the switch if you don't by lab equipment so my question is what should i get to cover all the topics in the switch exam ?

You can't do Private VLANs iirc, but as long as you know the theory you should be fine. -
fredrikjj Member Posts: 879It's hard to beat the convenience of rack rentals in my opinion, but the 2x3550 + 2x<cheap layer 2 switch> shouldn't be too expensive either. You could also do a lot of the VLAN and STP stuff on IOU.
You'll probably find that you'll require far less lab time for switch than route; once you know a feature, configuring it is often very straight forward. -

Can't beat having the actual switches, though. -
