I hate Prometric!

Ok so I scheduled a test 2 weeks a go for CIW 1D0-520 for my WGU class. The closest testing center was 1 and a half hours away. So I get there today and I get there about 30 min early. About 10 min pass and the door was still locked so I find their number online and call them. They then drop the bomb on me that they are no longer doing testing and that they moved, and have not done testing for over 4 months. They had notified Microsoft and Prometric still let me schedule a test with them. SO basically I lost a day of work, I drove 1 1/2 hours for nothing, and wost gas and Promotric is not open today. I am heated and pissed off!

srabiee Member Posts: 1,231 ■■■■■■■■□□Yes Prometric definitely sucks. Closest testing center to Charleston, WV is 1.5 hours away in KY. Closest testing center that's open on weekends is 3.5 hours away in Cincinnati, OH. The only option I have to take Microsoft exams is to drive to Cincinnati on Saturdays, then drive back. 7 hours in the car.
All of the Prometric centers that used to be in WV pretty much closed up shop. I made umpteen phone calls trying to locate one, and they all said that they used to do it but either they dropped Prometric or Prometric dropped them.
The kicker is, there's Pearson Vue testing centers all over my area, but Microsoft uses Prometric exclusively.WGU Progress: Master of Science - Information Technology Management (Start Date: February 1, 2015)

When I started in IT and did my helpdesk certs the closet testing centers were at min 25 miles from me and when I took my Windows XP exam the center was closed because the guy was running late to work. I had to wait 45 min to start my exam 45 min late and I was doing it in the morning then going to work. So I had to call my boss and explain what was going on. It sucked.
Going down the Cisco path I can find Pearson Vue centers left and right all around me. -

Yeah the thing is there is not another Prometric Site available outside of that one that is permanently closed. If their site wouldn't have listed that test center I would have never gone with Prometric, so it looks like I am out of a test, because I am not driving 4 hours to take a test.WGU Complete: September 2014 -

and Pearson Vue lets you reschedule for free. -
dragonshiz Member Posts: 78 ■■□□□□□□□□I would submit that to Prometric for reimbursement, if you go on their site you can find out exactly where it needs to go. At the very least they should reimburse you for your mileage. I had a kind of similar situation where i had to drive 4 hours on the weekend to test and was going to stay overnight. After being assured that the location would be open on saturday it was indeed closed. I had to appeal the initial dispute but eventually i was reimbursed for my hotel cost and my mileage as well as being able to reschedule the test.WGU - B.S. Information Technology
