Any recommendations for usb to serial cable connection?

I'll soon be in the market for one. As my current laptop doesn't have a serial port and I will to connect to various physical routers/switches.

I did find this recommendation from another thread, however was looking for more input.

I use this one from Valley Enterprises. It works great on windows 7/8 and has red/green LEDS to indicate activity.

Trendnet also had a good one with low price

Both look pretty good. I forgot to mention, that I'm using Win 7 x64, however I anticipate that I may use a Linux VM to access a physical router/switch as well to see what happens.
