Hi all,
I must say this forum is a tremendous help. I have been lurking here for a while mainly due to having stumbled across the pains of those wanting to enter the IT industry and acquire certain certifications for their career.
I want to thank all those who posted their exam notes and those who both failed and passed and told us of their experience.
I failed the first attempt three weeks ago, with a score of 586. Funnily enough I did good on deployment and most other areas that are so-called 'hard' but didnt score a single questions right on Backup (:0) and Network and Network Configuration section as well as managing applications i scored badly on too.
I knew what I did wrong. Poor time management. I used the MCTS Self paced training kit from Microsoft and to be honest, although I agree with those that said it takes ten pages to explain something that other authors explain in two, the Microsoft book goes well in depth and the chapters I Spent studying from that book before moving on to CBT Nuggets 70-680 were the ones I did well in.
But obviously that is not the only reason. I suddenly was three days away from my exam and still had 6 chapters to go through so I did not spend nearly half as much time on those chapters as the first ones such as Deployment, Migration, USMT etc and for that I failed. I was disappointed but I had a second shot voucher used to book the first attempt and thus felt that I needed to really sharpen up. Booked the exam again for two weeks later and just spent everyday studyiing and labbing on the areas I did bad in, also refreshing my memory from time to time on the sections I also did well in.
Second time I passed with a score of 805, but I must say I was sweating like crazy and worried. Needless to say I was chuffed to see the congratulations screen at the end. I already have an interview tomorrow for a Entry Level It Support role and hope that this will be my first IT job and the start of my IT career.
once again thank you all.

How were you able to still lab for the test? I thought the virtual labs were shut down. -

I labbed through exercises in the MCTS Self pace training kit over and over and over until i understood many of the commands in things like DISM, USMT, WDS, image x for example but also all the network knowledge regarding Branchecache and Remote Access.
I tell you the networking questions seemed the tricker ones and theres quite a few of them. -
