Tuition reimbursement for Veterans

I'm posting this for the benefit of our veterans out there who have not yet considered seeing if they have benefits available to them for certification training. Feel free to shime in if you have experiences that can benefit the group.
I got eligibility for tuition reimbursement with the Veteran's Addministration under the REAP program back in September.
Since then, I took the SANS 512 conference for the GSLC Certification and did self-study for CompTia Security+.
I got both certifications and now I'm looking to get reimbursed for course tuition, books and testing fees.
In the information packet I got with REAP, they have instructions to get the school's VA certifying official to submit a Form 22-1999.
I've contacted SANS and was referred to the person who is likely in charge of this.
Does anyone know how to submit for reimbursement for the books? I have yet to contact CompTia to see if they have some certifying official.

zxbane Member Posts: 740 ■■■■□□□□□□This is interesting, is this benefit separate from post 9/11 etc? I am using the 9/11 for schooling but I would love to attend some SANS training and pursue some SANS certifications. How does this program work with regards to SANS and other training institutions?
EDIT: After reading up on it, this program seems to apply to reserve members etc. I'm assuming if I am someone who simply separated after my enlistment was up then I do not qualify? -
dmoore44 Member Posts: 646If I remember correctly, REAP is a Reserve program...
And with that, I know absolutely nothing about it. I know that my Post 9/11 GI Bill won't reimburse for anything at SANS except for the cost of the exam - if I pass.Graduated Carnegie Mellon University MSIT: Information Security & Assurance Currently Reading Books on TensorFlow
