PoE problem - My Switches
sendalot
I have a PoE problem with my switches. I have a 2950 and 3550 coming in and seem like both are non-PoE switches.
Please recommend what I should do.
(1) Return 3550 and get another switch that gives PoE.
(2) Put up with 3550 and use extra power adapters for the IP phones?
Thanks.

Do switches that are described as "Power In-Line" mean that they are PoE?
Thanks.

a 3550 with power is gonna look like "
Catalyst 3550-24 PWR Switch" it will have somethign like PWR in the model number.

Front cover of the 3550 will say "INLINE POWER". The two uplink ports are stacked one over the other vs. one next to each other as on the non POE 3550.
You can still use 2950 and 3550 non poe for other labs.

From my lab, top one is POE, bottom one isn't.
