Interview Ahead (Possible Senior Level Position for me)

Well as the title states I have an interview Thursday for a senior role within my company. I'm actually extremely nervous as I know who will be driving the technical part of the interview. This guy was brought back to my company as an SME for Network Operations so he literally knows his stuff better than anybody in the company. My role obviously would be considered much more junior to his but it gets me a bit nervous knowing he will be in the interview hammering me with technical questions.

My current role is my first ever Network Operations role. So I don't have A LOT of time in the field but feel I have progressed very well given my time of exposure.

If anybody has some pointers feel free to chime in. Obviously I am not looking for answers to technical questions more or less just some guidelines on how to compose myself.

Side note: I have already spoken with a work friend that is already working from this position level so I in a nut shell know what to expect as far as how the interview will be conducted.

I am just trying to make myself as prepared as I possibly can. This move will be huge for the progression of my technical career in networking.

Just be honest in your knowledge and what you can do. If you don't get the position then it was most likely because he didnt feel like you were ready for it yet. Goodluck!

I couldn't agree more. Talking around what you know instead of about what you DO know will discredit you.
