What I do not get is that they say

"read them on all your devices, and sync them with your Dropbox, Kindle, and Google Drive accounts"

I have not been able to figure out how to sync them with my kindle. I can put the files on my Kindle Fire but not use the Kindle app on my phone to read the book from where I left off.

I also have issues with the Kindle app for my Surface and Windows 8 laptop. I can understand not syncing a file that is loaded locally, but I can't even side load the files in the way I used to with my Kindle DX and Win7 application. I haven't been happy with any of the e-readers I tried like Liberty, so I buy non-MSPress books from the Kindle store for e-reading. If anyone has a Windows reader app that works, as in doesn't crash and keeps your place in the book, I'd like to hear about it.

Yeah, this is a real bummer. I am going to take advantage of the offer, but it is my preference to buy from O'Reilly. Great vouchers almost always and they offer epub on many titles.
