Coolhandluke Member Posts: 118Yup, ICMP is the most correct answer. In terms of security they all have issues but ping sweeps help people to descover devices so blocking them could help prevent further attacks.[CCENT]->[CCNA]->[CCNP-ROUTE]->COLOR=#0000ff]CCNP SWITCH[/COLOR->[CCNP-TSHOOT]

BlackBeret Member Posts: 683 ■■■■■□□□□□ICMP is the protocol used by the ping command. A "sweep device" I assume is any device that can "sweep" the network, i.e. ping sweep in this case. HTTPS and SSH are secure protocols for protecting data, IPv4 is the network communication protocol.
If you don't know the answer try to rule out the others. -
Cert Poor Member Posts: 240 ■■■□□□□□□□I've never heard of "sweep device," but when I hear "device," it makes me think it's a physical tool that can be used in a room (say, a hotel room or office) to detect the presence of covert bugs. So, a device that can do an RF sweep of a room to ensure it's not bugged.
I don't like CompTIA's terminology a lot of the times. Lots of typos on the exam and double-spacing of the space bar.In progress: MTA: Database Fundamentals (98-364)
