Installing one Operating System on more than one Physical workstation

Hello,

is there any one knows if we can install one operating system on more than one physical machine so that they will act as one platform similar to the stacking concept on the switches.

I think what you're referring to is clustering...you can cluster for multiple purposes, but it allows multiple computers to combine resources while working towards a common goal(s).
