Where can I find comfirmation on this question? I need clarification onthe max RAM. I have a computer that has 8 Meg of ram and this question says 4 Meg is the max so am I just wastign money putting 8 Meg in?
Which of the following correctly describe the hardware requirements regarding the amount of RAM for Windows XP Professional?
Following is the answer they give.
Minimum RAM: 64 MB
Recommended RAM: 128 MB
Maximum RAM: 4 GB

jescab Inactive Imported Users Posts: 1,321got it thanks - what happens to the extra ram that is above and beyond the XP max? I use programs like Pro/E adn that needs a boat load of memory for all the graphics rendering and stuff. So can I install move then 4 GB or is that just a waste of money?

vex Member Posts: 113Pro/E's memory requirements are min 256MB and recommended 512MB or higher.
The application will only be assigned a max of 2gigs by the OS.
I would say that even if XP would recognize more than 4gigs it would be a waste of money.Ancient Certs:
