WGU Technical Writing SBT1

Hello all, I am working on the end of my degree and currently writing my Tech Writing and Capstone papers. For SBT1 I am stuck on the Rationale and System Analysis. I get the the Rationale is basicaly the reasoning for the proposal but I do not understand what they are wanting with the System Analysis. Is this for what hardware/software would be needed to be procured for the project? I have tried the message boards but for that course they are slim at best. Anyone here that has completed the Tech Writing can chime in :)

Thank,
Alan

Contact the course mentors, I'm working on the EXACT thing right now. They can send you a sample copy as a model and it's very helpful to see how someone else did the project. Looking at my sample page, yes, it's the reasoning behind the proposal like you said, but as for the systems analysis I think it just depends on your specific project. In the example paper they gave me the person is doing a backup / data de-duplication system, First they talk about the reasons for it, one of which is cost, faster, less tapes, etc, then simplifying their backup processes, needing less people, etc. They then talked about what seems to be the systems analysis section where they talk about the different vendors they've considered for backup systems, some info on each and why they chose the specific one they went with.
    Hope that helps.

Just had my SBT1 accepted on Thursday. For my rationale and systems analysis, I provided a high-level technical overview (system operation, protocols, etc) and Visio images (2 diagrams) for a total of 3 pages of a "systems analysis". My project is based on a application/service that I wanted to develop.

I also completed this course recently and found the mentors to be a great help. Also, book a session with one of the mentors and ask them for tips on transitioning from the tech writing to the capstone. I did this and found it very helpful.
