Hi guys,
Did the switch exam today. Passed with high 80s.
Material used:
OCG - read it twice, taking notes the 2nd time
CBT nuggets - watched once
INE CCNP Switch bootcamp videos - watched once
Master CCNP switch by Rene Molenaar - read once, doing the labs on the way as well
CCNP Switch simplified - skimmed through the book very quickly
Very tough exam. Probably the toughest one I have ever done. I was hit with all the labs within the first 15 questions. The screen resolution of the test machine was 800x600, making it hard to put lab console windows next to each other. A lot of time was wasted by me moving the windows around the screen. Also, lab interface very buggy, it was doing all sorts of things. 1hr and 15min into the exam panick kicked in as i realized i had another 30 questions to do and only 45 mins to do them. From there on i went through the rest of them fairly quickly, not double checking anything.
To the guys that are planning to go for switch soon, make sure you do your time reading. Watching only CBT nuggets will get you a catastrophic score, as the exam goes into great depth on most topics.
I would recommend that you make sure you can lab (also understand the concepts!!!) everything that is in the OCG without looking back at the book.
Route is next, I am glad to have switch behind me. Hopefully, ROUTE is easier.
Thanks guys
