First subnetwork is going to be 10.0.0.0 with broadcast addess of 10.0.0.255 and all the hosts live in 10.0.0.1 - 254 range okay. Is next subnet 10.1.0.0 or 10.0.1.0?

2020: GCIP | GCIA
2021: GRID | GDSA | Pentest+
2022: GMON | GDAT
2023: GREM | GSE | GCFA

Try writing out the binary for the first 3 or 4 subnet addresses.
It will be easier to see how you are counting.
Your last post is correct once you get to 255 you increment the next column and reset that octet to 0s. Like a car Odometer. -

Not sure if that is a type, but a slight correction "10.0.255.0 and then 10.1.0.0 subnet", The bold should be 10.0.255.255(broadcast addess) and then 10.1.0.0 -

Not if he is only talking about the subnet itself. If talking about the last address then yes 10.0.255.255.
