    To be fair, the management interface is fantastic but it was a shock to the system nonetheless.

    My company deployed an HP XP512 SAN, essentially a rebadged Hitachi, around 2004 or 5 and the management laptop in the cabinet ran Windows 98.

    Don't mistake the management software for the controllers. The controllers run a hardened linux.
