Glad this thread is still updated, i was talking to a company about a position and they mentioned PCNSE required. Never even heard about this cert but will be looking into it for future references.

Hi, is it useful to take PCNSE6 exam, based on PAN-OS6? I think that a PAN-OS 7 based PCNSE exam should be better, but I see that it hasn't been released yet.
Actually: CCNA - Palo Alto ACE

As far as I know, PCNSE has always been based on the .1 release. Since 7.1 is still in the beta phase, it may take few more months before we see PCNSE 7 exams.

Hello, I'm looking to take the PCNSE6 exam (I currently have the CNSE based on 4.1), but the PA study guide constantly refers to the official class material. I have a few years of experience with the PA FWs, Panorama, GlobalProtect, and Wildfire. So quite a bit of knowledge, but want to make sure I study any areas outside the scope of my day to day work - just features I've never had to implement. Anyone know of a study resource for this exam that'll cover all the material instead of taking 3 $3,000 classes just to fill in the gaps?

You will do just fine by going through the PA study guide and not the official class material that it refers to.

The cert expire when Palo Alto introduces a new major version, then you would need to update your cert.
