What ASA is recommended for the CCNA Security and CCNP Security?
I see a lot for the ASA 5505 for CCNA Security.
Would the ASA 5506-X be enough for both certifications?
What licenses should I look for?

Actual hardware? Or are you looking for images?
Actual hardware. I know that you can get away with studying with images but any hands on will help with work as well.These articles and posts are my own opinion and do not reflect the view of my employer.

Either one with base licenses is enough. I'd go with 5505 personally as most of the labs I've seen use the 5505 and I would assume you can get it cheaper. I'm using the ASAv on my ESXi host and it's a bit of a PITA to use with GNS3. Real hardware would be a good choice if you can afford it.

I've not personally bought any Firewall's for my studies (but I work with them daily at work). But I would probably suggest like other guys have, 5505..maybe a 5510.
Personally I have setup my GNS3 with x2 Cisco ASA 5520 Firewall's and managed to get ASDM working so I can use either CLI or GUI also.. I think that would be enough for the CCNA Security..2018 Goal: CCIE Written [ ]
