Stanly Jan-Mar

I just received an email for the Stanly VM course from Jan-Mar. I was originally planning on taking this later as I was told my turn would be in the spring but for now I'm going to put my CCNA studies on hold in order to study and take this cert. Does anyone who's recently taken Stanly have any advice for me? I already hear not to purchase their book but can anyone else recommend additional study material?

Another question: I do have a background in VM for my current position but I don't really do anything in depth with it. How much time did any Stanly taker take to study after the course was over before they ended up taking the test?

Alright so I completed the course last night....
Am I just waiting for an email from SCC about the course and the certification?

My email just turned up - got the voucher through the link that was sent with it - it reads that you can sit 3 exams at 70% off:

"This VMware exam discount code allows one person to take up to 3 (three) proctored, academic only, VCP-DCV "PSE" exams at 70% off the normal price."

I wonder if I could take/pass the VCP for 5.5 then go for 6 afterwards and still get the discount? Anyone done this?

The class will NOT allow you to Pass the exam (especially without any book). It will only fulfills the 'Course' requirement.

Don't put off your CCNA studies. Continue forward with your current plans.

Just reserve 8-hours per week to "get through" the vm course.
Study for the exam at some later date (but watch for the retirement)

Good advice. I just gained entry to the June course for vSphere6. Is he general advice that the book is not needed?

I passed the VCP exam last week after completing the Stanly course. Does anyone know how long I would have to wait before receiving confirmation/certificate from VM?

I did the exam on 29th of april, and 14-15h later I got a mail with confirmation of the updated credentials in the transcript.
Review the mail junk folder and log in mylearn and check in myTranscript section.

I'll be beginning the VCP6 class this summer. I notice the book is "required" but there's a lot of opinions on not buying here.

I wanted to get mastering vSphere6 per above comments but I actually notice a LOT of the Amazon reviews say there is innaccurate/misinformation on the mastering 6 nick Mitchell book... Any opinions on this?
