Hey guys I need to download vcenter server 5.5.0 for windows. for my vcp 5.5 exam. but when I go to the website all I see is version 6.0. will using the vcenter 6.0 still prepare me for this exam if I use that version? thanks!

Only vSphere 5 customers can download it now, same goes for ESXi.
It will certainly be harder to use the newer version to prepare for the older exam, you'll have options and capabilities that just didn't exist previously.
But, so long as you focus on the VCP550 blueprint, and on vSphere 5.5 resources such as the documentation, you'll still be able to prepare yourself for VCP550.VCP2 / VCP3 / VCP4 / VCP5 / VCAP4-DCA / VCI / vExpert 2010-2012

Ya that's the one thing that stinks about VMware - you have to be a current customer in order to download the products.
As Scott mentioned honestly if you hit the blueprint hard and read the material you should be able to pass the VCP. VCAP is where I would think you need hands on.
You do have other options too - you can sign up for the vmug advantage (https://www.vmug.com/advantage) which will give you access to software (costs money though). -

Just wondering what the T&Cs say about giving someone the ISO without a license - given it would run on 60 day only anyway ... I'll check some channels and if it is ok according to the T&Cs then I am happy to give you a download .. if not, then I am afraid you will have to use 6
Edit: Seems to be legally ok as long as I don't give you a key .. so I will upload it for you over the next few days and you should be able to use a 60 day trialMy own knowledge base made public: http://open902.com

No. You don't have to be current customer to download the latest product. You have to be current customer to download older product.2018 Certification Goals: Maybe VMware Sales Cert
