Hi, just wanna know if there will be any subnetting questions on the INTRO test? I was flipping thru the CCNA INTRO Exam Certification Guide by Wendell Odom and I saw subnetting contents in there, but I don't think it's listed as a requirement in the 640-821 exam topics.

Thanks

remember to write down the chart for subnetting like 128 192 224 240 248 252 253 and the powers of 2. its will help u in calculating the subnnetting during the exam.

You get pounded with subnetting in the CCNA exam! It isn't really hard but Cisco loves asking about it - In short...Be sure to know it. icon_thumright.gif

    The exam objectives are here:

It looks like they certainly can ask questions on subnetting:
    Design and Support
    Determine IP addresses

    Implementation and Operation
    Assign IP addresses

    Technology
Demonstrate the mathematical skills required to work seamlessly with integer decimal, binary and hexadecimal numbers and simple binary logic

    Employ IP addressing techniques
All things are possible, only believe.

I can 100% confirm that subnetting IS in the INTRO.

You will be hit with many subnetting questions - it is a core fundamental subject with Cisco - get used to it and know it well.

You definitely want to visit the learntosubnet and practicesubnetting questions websites if your not doing subnetting in your sleep yet (subnetting nightmares don't count).

The Sybex book is also good for learning subnetting (that reason alone is enough to buy this book).

Once subnettting clicks in your head, those questions should be "gimme's".
