Hello,
I was configuring Print Server for the first time using PDF Creator for learning on Server2012 r2. I followed the steps from the internet and publish a shared printer in active directory.
Right click PDF creator> manage sharing> ticked the share this printer and then ticked "rend job on client computer" and "list in the directory"
then I came across a question in my mind that "why we want/need to publish shared printers in active directory"
can anyone please help me.

There are probably a few different ways of answering this, but just thinking of Active Directory Users and Computers (ADUC) for a moment, this is an 'identity management system'. So, the devices that are hosted by ADUC will give the admin more control over the members of the domain that can use these resources. Sometimes there are printers you don't want certain departments using due to location or the nature of what is being printed. Hope this helps
