why does the sticky parameter give an option for a mac address ?
sticky just learns the first mac on the interface, so why is a mac
option given ?
from PT:

I think its an error. I just checked a 3750, 2960 and 3850 and they don't have the option. No one I can recall uses the sticky feature anyway. We do mac filtering per port at some locations but they are always manually entered. I have two C2950 switches; I'll call them S1 and S2.
S1 does not have the 'sticky' option. The 'show ver' command output is...

As for why you have the option to enter a MAC Address at this point, the only reason that I can think of is if you want to use the 'protect' option with 'switchport port-security violation', as this mode will only work with the 'sticky' option.No longer an active member
