Passed VCP 5.5 DCV. Whats next ?

Passed VCP DCV 5.5 on Oct 1st.
Oct 1 was the last date for the voucher too got from Stanly.

I dont have lots of experience in VMware except workstation. Prepared through lots of videos, small lab, Scots book.
Exam was not simple . But , I think its easier than MS exam :D.

What should I do next ? going for v6 ?

    Well done.

If I were you, and I wanted to progress further, I'd focus on getting more experience before thinking about other certifications.

When you're ready, VCP6-DCV is an obvious choice, then working towards the VCAP6-DCVs.

Currently in my company, we dont use vmware products. Most linux servers.
cant setup a lab now coz I am away from home. Only resource is a Laptop.

Is there any other free or really cheap resources for hands on lab. :)

    Thank You

Probably this month seeing as they're usually valid for 12 months maximum.

So the VCAP level is going to be very tough for you.

Why do you want VMware certifications if you cannot work with their products?

You always have access to these labs: VMware Learning Platform

I don't see anything wrong with starting to learn the material for VCP 6, since it will help reinforce a lot of what you already learned from the VCP 5 exam.

As Scott asked though, what is your goal for pursuing VMware certification?

    @scott @MitM

Main goal for doing VCP - Interested in virtualization/cloud and it was my dream to achieve VCP from last 2,3 yrs. :)
Got experience in KVM & HyperV .

I want to change my career to virtualization/cloud oriented.

Good reason to keep learning then :)

I'd start studying for VCP6. 16GB in a machine is good. You can use VMware Workstation to nest ESXi hosts. I prefer multiple systems with shared storage, but that doesn't seem to be an option for you.

Good that's great because I plan to sit the VCP 5.5 in January and I would have hated for my exam voucher to expire.
