Question about Line vty 0 4 on router

By default are routers and switches automatically configured with the "Login Command" For the VTY Sessions? I keep doing a show run, and I see line vty 0 4 "Login" even though I have never saved the config. Of course no password is set, so that means I can go to config t , Line vty 0 4, password jake. without specifying the Login Command" Since by default it's already in there ?

Correct (so far as I know).

You could also connect to the Router via the console port, then from enable mode, issue the commands...

    line vty 0 4
    no login

That would then disable the login feature. You could then Telnet into the Router without the need for a Password.

In a commercial setup, this would be very bad practice, but for convenience, in a privet setup, why not.

If its already there then yes. It vaguely seems like it wasn't in there by default in older images... Don't quote me on that.
