Passed, cheerfully.

I took both the Core and OS Friday and passed both. Combined they took me about 25 minutes total. I found the OS more difficult - it asked me 30 questions wheras the Core only went 23, I think.
This site was a great help, as well as the A+ Passport book and 'Upgrading and Repairing PCs'. I also picked up for free about a half-dozen old P1s and 486s so I could try a few things I'd never done before without accidentally smoking my P4.
As a former copy editor who is trying to switch careers, I've been told Network+ and CCNA are the next two logical steps. Anyone think different?

Congrats on passing both exams with a good time limit. Excellent also to start the new 2003 year off.
Network+ is the next logical step

great work on gaining a+ certification.
taking old computers apart, rebuilding, upgrading, installing operating systems, general tinkering is great for a+ hands-on.
network+ is the next accepted exam to take. decide then whether you want to go the cisco or microsoft routes.
your old computers should help you with network+ too
