Back-To-Back T1 ( VWIC-2MFT-T1 )

Hello ! I'm trying to create a Back-To-Back T1 connection to simulate a PSTN in a Lab environment. But I still had no success.
I'm using two Cisco Routers ( CISCO2811 - Version 15.1(4)M8, and CISCO2801 - Version 12.4(13r)T ) with a VWIC-2MFT-T1 card each.
Maybe someone here can help me. Follow my config and some debugs bellow.

On R1 you seem to have L1 status deactivated. How are these connected?? Seems you might have a cabling issue maybe or a disabled interface?

Its been forever since I did this but I believe one side has to be clock source line and also that your using a T1 crossover NOT an ethernet crossover.. different pins are crossed..
  • negru_tudornegru_tudor Member Posts: 473 ■■■□□□□□□□
Indeed. ISDN PRI requires the blue/white-blue crossed with the orange/white-orange. BRI uses green/white-green instead of orange.

the following command needs to be on one router only (typically the telco router):

    isdn protocol-emulate network

Also as stated you need a T1 crossover cable (not a standard Ethernet crossover).

Get a couple of network jacks and wire the x-over between them. Then you can just use standard patch cords in and out.
