Complete Linux noob

Just passed my Sec+ last week and want to get started on my Linux+. I would love to eventually land in a SysAdmin type position. I've worked in IT in general helpdesk and some jr admin work the past 3.5 years. My only knowledge of Linux is the next to nothing that was included in my Sec+ studying. I would prefer to have a paperback book to start learning out of to start and then try some practice material online to test my knowledge. Can someone recommend a good and thorough book to help me pass the Linux+ AND get a solid foundation in Linux because I have nothing as of now. Thanks!

The best thing I did to jump start my Linux path was set up a computer with CentOS.

I cannot say enough good things about Linux Academy. It is inexpensive (you can go by the month) and you can gorge yourself on Linux content including practical labs.

Another thing you could do is to replicate your knowledge of how to do certain tasks in Windows, and do the same in CentOS. For example, how to configure network adapters for static vs dynamic IP address, how to set up a file server, DNS server, etc.
    IT guy since 12/00

Recent: 11/2019 - RHCSA (RHEL 7); 2/2019 - Updated VCP to 6.5 (just a few days before VMware discontinued the re-cert policy...)
    Working on: RHCE/Ansible
Future: Probably continued Red Hat Immersion, Possibly VCAP Design, or maybe a completely different path. Depends on job demands...

Great book! But I haven't taken Linux+ so I don't know how well it translates to the exam.
