3550 in BSCI?

Hi there...

A question for anyone who's taken the BSCI...is there any L3 switching involved (e.g. using a 3550)? I'm considering purchasing a 3550...

You're more likely to hit it in the BCMSN exam....
new: Explain and configure Inter-VLAN routing (i.e., SVI and routed ports)
old: Describe and configure SVI and routed ports on Catalyst switches

But any routing you learn here would be useful with the 3550 (or 3560) later.

It would be nice to have a 3550 (or 3560) for the CCNP -- but there isn't that much to learn (or memorize), so most people don't get one for a home CCNP lab.... but if you have CCIE asperations, now is the time to get one....

I just took (and failed) the BSCI last week. There were no switching questions of any kind on my test. Plenty of IP6, IS-IS, and BGP, along with route redistribution, but no switching at all.
