Close but no cigar, ROUTE failed again

I got hit immediately with sims and simlets that I was perfectly confident answering, but it seems like the Q/A are completely abstract, like they ask a question about a technology with the premise of the answer seeming to allude to another technology but not specifying that technology - For a random example asking about authentication, but alluding to how it works with PPPoE without mentioning PPPoE.

Am I answering a question about how the auth protocol works, or how it works with PPPoE? Thats the only thing I can pull off the top of my head, but there were just a ton of them like that, I just hate that ****.

Then the questions are mainly multiple answer, so you get 2 or 3 changes to get it completely wrong if your confident with 2 answers but again that 3rd one is a 50/50.

I missed it 720 / 790 to pass, but I am so ******* frustrated by the questions / multi-answer ****, it just completely negated me rocking (and verifying that I rocked) 3 god damn simulators.

This is going on $900 to reschedule the thing, I am considering if its worth it anymore, if SWITCH is anything like this bull **** then **** Cisco tests and those who claim these exams aren't money grabs. I could write more coherent question / answers in a drunken ******* stupor. ******* god damn it.

Yeah I rescheduled it 3 weeks out instead of 2, I need a non-Cisco week to not do anything study related.

I verified that I completed the SIM objectives with verification commands, but it wouldn't take a copy run start for only some of them which I thought was weird, I'll get it next time though and get this ROUTE out of the way so I never have to sit this damn thing again.

Copy run start isn't needed on the sims for you to pass them. That'd **** over too many people.

Believe me when I say. I know your pain!! I am a horrible test taker and literally mentally lock up in certain testing scenarios. However put me in front of a command line and scream at me during a network outage I am cool as ice and can get what needs to be done, done.

If you feel like giving it a read check out my thread. I went through many fails and frustrations. Believe me when I say though, after finally getting your certification in the mail, it's all worth it!

Naw, not me. I might have been the last person to comment but I don't have the power to ban you! There's like 8 different moderators around here somewhere. Their names are usually in green and it says "Moderator" in black above their green bars.

Hey Iris, I'm currently studying for ROUTE and have been labbing just about daily while working through the OCG. I noticed in this thread you said you were labbing for several hours each day for CCNP at one point. I was curious what type of structure or plan you used for doing that?

Currently I've got 7 preconfigured labs that I rotate through by day of the week: OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, IPv6, Redistribution, IP SLA/PBR, and Misc. While I feel this has been helpful, I'm sort of in a rut and getting a bit bored with just repeating commands each week.

I'm looking for suggestions to challenge myself and really learn the material, especially as I'm almost done with the OCG and will start working through the syllabus by topic soon.

Thanks for any input you have!
