MCPD, MCTS

Hi,
In this froum, I've seen number of times of this word 'MCPD, MCTS'.
Now, I am preparing for a MCAD/MCSD.
Everybody mentioned 'MCPD, MCTS' is new version of Micro Cert.
I'm confusing.
Would you explain me about concepts of MCPD, MCTS in comparision of previous one.
Please do it in details.
After your reply, I will decide the way to go for me.

it seems like they are quite similar, both certs are based on .NET 1.0 and 1.1
MCSD seems to require 2 extra exams, and particularly 70-300 seem to identify software engineering abilities. ie. user requirements (use cases, localization) functional requirements (scability, reliability)

MCTS and MCPD are the 'new gen' of Microsoft Certs. They are broken down in specialization in web apps, windows apps, and etc...

to be a MCPD, it seems like you have to be a MCTS first.

it's confusing I know....just do some research on the Microsoft site, it's not that bad...their site is actually quite reliable...unlike some of their other products

The older MCAD/MCSD certifications only cover .NET 1.x with VS.NET 2002/2003, while the newer MCTS/MCPD certifications only cover .NET 2.0 with VS.NET 2005. If you do not need to work on legacy .NET 1.x code, go with the newer MCTS/MCPD certifications that use .NET 2.0 (and eventually 3.0).
