Cloud Computing Career Path

I was wondering if I could get some feedback on what path I would need to take to get into Cloud Computing.

I have been doing Help Desk for over 10 years now but I have never really progressed my skills beyond what my job required of me. I am now ready to jump on the cert train and finally do something. I am currently studying for my Net +. I was wondering if anyone can help me with what cert route I should go on from here? I assume Cloud + next, but then I'm wondering, do I need to move onto any Microsoft Server certs (MCSA, MCSE), or could I go straight into AWS or Azure certs?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

    Net+ then Sec.
    Read about cloud (such as read a Cloud+ study guide or some articles or listen to some podcasts), but don't necessarily take the Cloud+ exam.
    Learn a server-side OS pretty well, regardless of whether you take a certification on it or not.
    Then jump into either AWS, Azure, or GCP certifications, while lobbing as much as possible.
    Goals for 2018:
    Certs: RHCSA, LFCS: Ubuntu, CNCF CKA, CNCF CKAD | AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Solutions Architect Pro, AWS Certified Security Specialist, GCP Professional Cloud Architect
    Learn: Terraform, Kubernetes, Prometheus & Golang | Improve: Docker, Python Programming

    Either Net+ or Sec+ should be good, but any additional CompTIA certs really won't help you out.

    Next step is to get into your MS certs. AWS is the gold standard when it comes to cloud, although having experience with Azure is good. Take the time to get your MCSE and gain that sys admin experience before jumping into AWS. Getting some Linux experience will also be extremely helpful. Don't look at Linux certs, but instead take some courses either in-person or online to get yourself familiar.

    Interesting
    Would you recommend the Cloud+ over the AWS: Certified Cloud Practitioner exam to gain foundational knowledge about cloud?
    Certifications: ITIL, ACA, CCNA, Linux+, VCP-DCV, PMP, PMI-ACP, CSM

    The Cloud+ is actually a cost effective way to add CPE's to your immediate certifications like SSCP or Sec+ or even CSA+.

    The CCP certification is just a "name the service" exam plus some TCO/support related questions. I don't see much value besides if you're a sales guy. Either go directly into the AWS associates or do the Cloud+, if the underlying concepts of the cloud interest you from a vendor-neutral perspective.

    I found quite a bit of networking/storage questions on the Cloud+ one, which might help you a bit with adapting to the cloud vendor of your choice.
