Can I pass Linux+ in 3 weeks?

Good morning Tech Fam,

I am currently studying to receive my Linux +. Is it realistically for me to pass this exam and receive this certification in 3 weeks? I have small experience with using Linux and I'm eager to study about 4 hours a day.

    It's possible, but probably very difficult w/o any Linux exp. Realize that the exam covers multiple "flavors" of Linux, touches briefly upon [shell] scripting/programming, and is comprised of 2 separate tests that you must pass. f you have no experience, it might be more prudent to devote 3 weeks to each of the individual Linux+ exams instead of 3 weeks overall.

    Depends on the quality of you labs and how realistic you are about working out with the VMs to build that "Linux Muscle". Can it be done but when your not in front of the lab you should be thinking about every possible question and how to answer them.

    If you've taken these tests before you know how the exam exercise works and what to expect.

    I studied and passed both exams in 17 days. Yes, it is doable. I also had a number of certs under my belt already, along with 20 years in IT.

    Realistically, you will need to spend about 150 hours per exam studying, but that varies based on your existing Linux knowledge. My concern would be that 3 weeks at 4 hours/day is not enough.

    Get VMs set up with Debian and Fedora, and spend a lot of time using the command line. It isn't a overly difficult exam, but it isn't a pushover either.

    Ofcourse, as per my experience, anyone can pass Linux+ Certification in 3 weeks. I have seen such people who have prepared and passed this certification in 3 weeks. All you need to do is to go for a good preparation material and increase the hours of your study. Give at least 6 hours in a day. The candidates mostly opt for such course or labs in which they can set the timetable and decide how much syllabus they can complete in a day. They study accordingly. Wish you all the best!

    I watched CBT nuggets in a couple of days booked both exams and hit 100% on each it was a piece of cake......

    @ally_uk - when was this? It would seem you have a few years of experience w/ both Linux and scripting. I don't think it'd be as easy for someone who's more green to pass after a couple days or get 100%. Especially not after only watching CBT nugget videos.

    I'm actually watching Linux certification materials probably wont take the exam. As financially I'm in a tough spot. Working my way through cbt nuggets videos. I watch them at work lol

    Can it be passed int x days, x month... It always depend on your previous experience, your learning style, your memory... We can only encourage you to push it :) Read the exam objective an review it objectively.

    Have you done an assessment test to have an idea how ready you are? Then you will be able to estimate if 3 week is enough. Nobody can do that for you.

    Finally, IMHO, I would say that you will not be ready in 3 weeks. Usually the last 2 weeks before an exam, I know the subject and I am doing many practice exam and review failed questions...

    So did OP get it in 3 weeks? I've been putting this off but I feel a renewed motivation to get it done. I'm giving myself a little more time at 3 months though. Hopefully that should be enough. I'm a slow learner and have only used Linux on my home computer for super basic tasks.

    @jibtech - what was your computer setup for running the VMs (eg: hypervisor choice, system resources, etc) ? Thanks in advance for any info
