Home network security appliance

So I was looking into adding some protection (IPS/IDS, guest network capabilities, Malware protection) for my home network.

So you have 2 options :

  • Have a PFSense setup / Get your own router (Asus with AiProtection)
  • Purchase a security appliance
I want to focus on the security appliance since the first is pretty well documented already. Here are a few options I found :

Bitdefender Box 2 : Pretty strong security engine, It gives you unlimited device licenses along with network wide protection meeting all my requirements.

Norton Core : Not that familiar with it but it seems to be a pretty solid thing from various reviews with all the requirements I want

Roqos Core : the product seems to be good from customer reviews but I am always careful with these brand new unknown vendors

Feel free to add some options icon_study.gif
