Client focused IT positions? Suggestions

DatabaseHeadDatabaseHead Member Posts: 2,753 ■■■■■■■■■■
I realize help desk and desktop support fall into that category.  Are there any others you can think of?  Extroverts in IT may gravitate to these types of positions.

Note - I realize some of these roles have multiple components, I'm looking at it as if the position is 50% or > 50% engagement based.

The list I could come up with:

Sales
PreSales
Business Analyst (Requirements)
HelpDesk
Desktop Support
Account Management
Project Manager
Product Manager (Owner)

Any other insights would be GREATLY appreciated.

Not a specific role but most positions in Managed Services are client centric and you could probably wrap consulting into that as well.

This is similar to "Account Manager" but Client Success Manager can be fairly technical at a SaaS company. Implementation Specialist is also very client facing.

What everyone else said. Look for Consulting firms, Professional Services, and Vendors.

I am moving to a client facing role, I found that internal IT roles don't suit my personality.

    Me either......

I'm taking this WFH position for the for mean time and then hopefully transitioning to something client facing.......  (Essentially WFH unless client involvement required).
