Hello guys,

Planning to take the SYS501 in the next 2-3 months. I'm halfway done with Messer's vid on YT and planning on to watch CBT Nuggets SYS501 vids by Keith Barker.

Would this be enough to cover all sections of the exam objectives?

Any insights or suggestions you can share with is much appreciated.

Thanks!

Many here would say get Darril Gibson's Book as a resource.

I plan on taking my test in September.
    I'm using:

    Darril Gibson's book
Darril Gibson's Security + iphone app
    Darril Gibson's online materials
    Udemy Security + video series
    Professor Messer's video series
    Professor Messer's Coarse Notes
    Exam Compass practice exams
    Measure Up Practice exams

Overkill....maybe, but i don't take any certification test lightly. I've studied this way for my A+ and barely passed, but a pass is a pass. I just like to feel extremely prepared.

Hey man, thanks for your response. Yeah, I think imma do the same, not going easy with this exam.

    Thanks

I managed to pass the Sec+ 401 exam within 6 weeks just by using Professor Messer and a few practice tests. Although it's doable with this strategy, I wouldn't recommend it as I've struggled to retain some of the objectives over the couple of years since I took it. As D20 suggested, it's best to add another resource like Darril Gibsons book as a secondary resource so solidify your knowledge.
Hi there, yeah thanks for your additional thoughts. I'll be having Gibson's book to my resources. already 70% done with Messer's YT vids.

    Thanks again
