I'm crossing my fingers pretty hard on this one, but my hope is that if we bring in quantity first, then quality should follow. At the end of the year, I'll take a look at how it went, and I'll make tweaks if needed. I'd love to make these giveaways a more regular thing - I just need to make sure the boss signs off on it!

    First and foremost  :D  :D

Secondly, I don't think it's a bad idea. It's an enormous, let me repeat it's an ENORMOUS amount of internet based IT training already on the world wide web. It's several people/organizations that are dominating the IT training store front.

With that being said, it's going to be (very) hard to be one of the top training providers when it's names that's been known for 10+ years. But I support it. Would I buy a bootcamp, no  of course not but I support what's happening with the growth and expansion of the market and what the organization is providing. Kudos to them.

It's not a lot, if any (no I didn't look) hey I passed X exam because I took Infosec Institute  training.

Even if you look at the client stories, it's people who work at X company.

It's not (indirectly) saying Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin, SIAC, CAIC, and X company paid us 50K+ to come conduct training in the conference room for 2 weeks. An indivdiual conducting training, can't really speak from the organization as a whole. He/she just so happens to work there. But, I/we know that big companies/military have paid providers to come conduct training, and like myself I was sent to a bootcamp a few years ago where it was only government employees.

I think it's a good idea, I've thought about it myself at one point in my life.

I make a video on how to do X, Y, Z. I charge $10.00 a video, or I watermark electronic content like Offensive Security does.

    If 1000 People get my content, that's $10.00 x 1000 - $10,000 dollars I made. So, stuff is profitable.  :#

Personally, I don't attend training unless I know people who have great reviews. I am going to get off topic. .But, it's known that Yelp, Amazon, and most other big companies can/will/has altered reviews. It's not a surprise and it's known that people internally/externally have been paid to write good reviews. So, as for me a "review" means very little, if any. I've wrote bad reviews and went back the next day and it was gone LOL.

I said all that to say, good luck.

    EDIT:

    My Biggest complaint. .

I really cringe of training providers that attempt to promote or sale you something and no price is listed.

So you want my name, name of company I work for, phone number, and email address just to get a price? What does any of that have to do with a price for training that I might or might not take. In order to remain competitive, in an already dominated market, you have to compete price wise. That means, the price can't be the same as the people who've been doing this for 10 years and they've trained 50,000 people.

I am sure, IF the bootcamp success/popularity rate grows, the prices will be on the internet anyway.

Seems like you are going to send me unwanted SPAM emails that I don't want. I just want a price, that's it.

It's been threads on the feelings of people who attend/attended/inquired about training and it says something along the lines of, "Exam Pass Guarantee", but I won't get into that.
    I wish everyone the best.

I would just like to just say thank you for the free training opportunity and if you want to provide discounted training to other InfoSec Groups, please DM me.

In the past our group gave away 15 free seats for the CISSP and a voucher for CASP+ and CySa+.

    Regards
