Sorry to hear that icon_sad.gif . Keep plugging away. I plan on writing next week sometime. The test center says no problem accommodating a guy on crutches.

Atleast you now know some of the question structure and where some of your weaknesses are... Relax the weekend and hammer the books on Monday. I think you'll pass. Its definately doable.

Check out some of the links in the CCNA Forum FAQ .... look for the subnetting and practice subnetting links.

Your implementation score is really low -- that probably included the SIM questions -- so you'd want to look at getting some more hands on practice.

    Good Luck! Study hard! icon_study.gif

I'm going to assume that the lab really screwed you up, because the main lab on the Cisco CCNA test I took was probably 30% of the score cumulative. Make sure you know how to cable, subnet, and configure WAN protocols and know the basic routing protocols (IGRP, OSPF, RIP/V2, and EIGRP), and work on troubleshooting existing networks that aren't working.

Thanks guys for your supportive replies. They cheered me up this morning. :)

The exam itself wasn't too difficult, but the 85% pass rate makes it a challenge. I only devoted one week of studying but have been reading on and off for the last two months.

The positive thing about failing this exam is that I know where are my key weaknesses. I got three weeks before my retake and I will study even harder than before to make sure I get the elusive 85%. :D

    Hi,

How was your time management? do you think 90 mins is enough time?
  • mrkoreanmrkorean Member Posts: 29 ■□□□□□□□□□
I didnt have any major time management issues, I finished my exam with 5 mins to spare. I either know the answers or not, and with the sims, I gave each sim 10-15 and successfully got them all to ping and saved the configs before moving to the next question.

    Hi

Is there a problem with me asking how many sims were in the exam?

    Hi

Is there a problem with me asking how many sims were in the exam?

    YES -- read your PM.

If you haven't taken the exam and agreed to the Cisco NDA, that's fine -- but stop asking others to violate their NDA agreement with Cisco in this forum.

    Read the Forum FAQ.
And read the Cisco Exam Policies the link to the NDA is there.

Actually I couldn't even use pen and paper, I had to use a shitty marker board that didn't erase correctly icon_evil.gif

When I took the INTRO I left the cap off the pen since I was using quite frequently - but by the middle of the test I was horrified to find that the pen was starting to dry-out.

So if the test proctor looked in - she might have seen me licking my pen to keep it wet.

Probably one of my better test situations. :P

Nearly two months later I took my resit today and I have narrowly passed my CCNA with 872. icon_lol.gif

    Implementation and Operation 80%
    Technology 92%
    Troubleshooting 77%
    Planning and Designing 75%

I was given 3 stimulations and I totally messed up one of them when I managed to lock myself out via telnet. icon_redface.gif

What I done differently was last time I was reading pdf based documents. Before Christmas, I went out and bought two books, the flash card and icnd book.

Also used the cisco prepcentre - theres a lot of resources there. Oh of course I use this site too, the technotes, test questions and the posts on this forum!

I do plan to take the CCNP but I rather the dusts settle for a couple of months. During the meantime I will take the Solaris 10 and mysql certifications!
