I honestly don't see this one getting much (or any) attention.
Any thoughts on this, in no particular context.

I have a voucher for this exam from WGU, however I am unable to find any information in regards to taking the exam.  When I attempt to find it through online through the PearsonVUE test catalog it doesn't even show as an available test to take.

I also took the WGU course on "Introduction to Cryptography" which was basically the EC Council textbook for E|CES. After passing the WGU exam for it, I was given a voucher to take the E|CES. The content is about as in depth as the old CISSP Cryptography domain, but with less professional textbooks.

However, I don't think having the E|CES would be useful for many people. Perhaps if you want to get into reverse engineering or maybe Identity & Access Management (IAM) it would be kind of neat? I don't imagine anyone would specifically ask for a candidate to have this. If you have CISSP then this knowledge is implied in that certification already.

Yea I hear you on the overlap, especially if there is another cert that supersedes that information and industry-clout.  It was more of the fact that I received the voucher, studied, did well and wanted the accolade for my linkedin wall.  I felt at best that it is a demonstration that you know the foundational material and is a tangible representation of the knowledge required.

Besides, when it comes to jobs that require a cryptography specific skill set you will most likely have the industry experience already before you would ever need the exam.

thanks for the input. I have this a module like this as part of my Uni studies (Advanced Security Protocols), and figured if I can complete this and get credit, spending $300- for coursework and the exam beats spending 825GBP for the module and save me 4 months of academic study.
