Kevin Mitnick dead at 59

Famed hacker Kevin Mitnick died on July 16, 2023 from pancreatic cancer. Kevin was just a few weeks short of his 60th birthday. I met Kevin at a book signing and at a hacker con. He was friendly, entertaining, and very helpful. Kevin Mitnick was very significant in publicizing--wittingly and unwittingly--many of the darker and ignored issues in the human side of cybersecurity.

I'm really sad and shocked, I saw this last night.

I can't believe it... I met him 5 years ago and he was full of life and energy, he is the reason why I wanted to do cyber security.

He gave me his business card and I still have it...
