Indeed, Dice, and LinkedIn are what I am using. Be careful with LinkedIn, I am seeing positions using the names of small companies which are not in the area. Anyone have any other ideas? I have tried LinkedIn, Dice, ZipRecruiter, Indeed, Clearance jobs, and a few others. Pretty much out of ideas. Unemployment runs out in 2 months and after 4 months of nothing I have started looking for jobs at Auto Zone and Lowes. At this point I think unless something falls into my lap my IT/cybersecurity days are over. I'm 56 with a B.S. and CISSP but I think my age, along with the current job market, is really playing against me here. Any ideas?

Pick up something temporary at a local retailer like you suggested until you get hired for a position in your career path. I was in the same situation. I was able to fallback onto my secondary profession as a teacher/instructor just to earn some income; now teaching is my full-time career. General InfoSec is a really tough career path now with so much of it being off-shored to people that will work very inexpensively compared to us here in the USA. Being older, too experienced, and other-than-DEI can be detrimental factors for USA-based job candidates as well. -
