Changing Old for New

Hi guys just wanted to know, has anyone had to install larger hard drives in their companies exchange server? and if so what steps did you take? Is it a case of backing up the data on the old drive, reinstall the new drive and use restore? Go easy as i am learning!!! Not seen anything about this in the books.

Alot of it will depend on the configuration

    for example

our exchange server is sert up liek this
System drive C: is mirriored and contians only windows 2003 and programs like email scanning and spam filter

our exchange on on a seperate Raid 5 (3 disks) so we are able to add another dirve to he RAID and we now have that extra space.

post up how your exchange box is configured because that will have alot to do with the answer.

I use Symantec Backup Exec System recovery to create images of all my servers. To upgrade the server, I close down the information store, create a image, Install the new drives, resize partitions and then just restore the image.

I have found this works well with both Exchange, SQL and DC's
