digital SLR?

I am thinking about buying a digital SLR but there are sooooo many on the market. Any digital photography people in here that could recommend a good mid-level camera?

You are going to start a war between the Canon and Nikon people. I like both, but the long and short of it is that the Canon Digital Rebel XTI ($750) is the best bang for the buck. For a few dollars less, look at the Nikon D40 ($599). For a few dollars more, look at the Nikon D80 ($1200). Those cameras will give you the best image quality and will let you use most older Canon and Nikon lenses. The camera body isn't really a big deal. The lenses are where it's at, and where you will spend the most money. The thing I like about the Canon is that you can drop the thing down the grand Canyon and go buy a new one at any Best Buy or camera shop and not ruin your vacation. Many pro photographers keep a Canon XTI as a backup body to their $6,000 pro bodies. Ditto for the Nikon D80.

Sometimes Dell Home has coupons that you can apply to a camera. Sign up for an account there and you might get the Canon for $700 or so.

Check out photo.net and do some reading. They have reviews and articles about all of these cameras.

I purchased a Canon Digital Rebel last year and absolutly love it. I paid about $900 for it then, but the price has dropped quite a bit since then.

I am leaning towards a canon, but what about Olympus

For $900 this one comes with 2 lenses
