Vlan Trunking

Guys i have a quick but simple question on this topic. For some reason i'm suddenly hung up on it. I know when passing traffic between two different VLAN's you need at least a Router. Obvisoulsy they are on different subnets. Now what about if i have to switchs. I have VLAN 1 on both Switch 1 and Switch 2 and need to send a broadcast. Does the traffic need to pass through a router since they are on the same VLAN? Or is that what the VLAN Trunk is for and it the traffic goes between both switches?

No, you only need a router if you're traversing different subnets. You can trunk two switches and pass traffic between them without a router so long as you never leave the same subnet (which means no inter-vlan traffic).

Just set the two trunked switchports to trunking mode and do a no shut, it's as easy as that.

If you have the same VLANs on both switches, you can also connect a crossover cable via an access port on both switches (in the same VLAN) to allow communication across both switches in the connected VLAN. Obviously, the trunk method is a better solution, as you only need one trunk link for all the VLANs, and not a cable for each one.
